Where's The Sound On The Center Monitor?
This was the profound question that Brandon Summers from
The Helio Sequence had to ask as equipment issues prevented the duo (with Ben Weikel on drums) from starting their set. They did play a kickass lineup which included some of the new songs slated to appear in their new record (I can't wait for it to come out). The crowd had to cut their stage-time short by a song; much to the disapproval of the fans in the crowd.
I headed over to K's flat afterward. I wanted to get over to her location by bus but
had a hard time getting one. I finally got to check out K's new digs and she was sweet enough to fix me dinner and some wine as well. As soon as we were about ready to get caught up on what's been going on with our respective lives, we headed out to plan on seeing
Band of Horses. Much to our chagrin, the lines to get in on both entrances were so damned long that by the time we got in, the group would've ended their set. We ended up finding ourselves at Coastal Kitchen for some ice cream.
I'm also disappointed that I didn't take any pictures. I was missing my camera, for crying out loud! I'll have to find it today so that I could take pictures of sets by Silversun Pickups, Minus The Bear, and Common Market.
